16 Reasons You Had A Successful 2016

With only a couple of days left in the year, Q4 is definitely a time to evaluate, reflect and plan for the first quarter of the new year.

If you were successful in 2016, it most likely didn’t happen on accident. You were intentional about your success this past year.

1. You Accepted That You’re Not Perfect

I am a confessed perfectionist. I’ll admit it and raise my hand up high. Simple. Everything has to be perfect.

When things do not go the way as I planned, frustration tends to build up.

“Where Perfectionism exists, shame is always lurking.” -Brene Brown

This past year, I accepted that I am not perfect. No one is for that matter. And I am okay with that.

The quicker you stop trying to do everything perfectly, you’ll start embracing new challenges and facing fear straight on.

2. You Stopped Comparing Yourself

You stopped playing the comparison game.

It’s easier said than done, I know.

“Don’t compare yourself with anyone in this world… if you do so, you are insulting yourself.” -Bill Gates

When you see everyone else winning and your competition thriving, it’s extremely difficult to not get into a slump.

If you saw success this past year, you told the negative committee in your head to be quiet. You are enough.

3. You Became Laser Focused On One Thing

Many entrepreneurs have the misconception that doing multiple things at once is the way to go.

“Find your one thing and do that one thing better than anyone else.” -Jason Goldberg

If you were successful this year, you gave your blood, sweat and tears to one major task and delegated the rest.

4. You Set Boundaries

One of the biggest factors that sets the successful apart, is that they know how to say “No.”

Many will give priority to movie nights, concerts or time with friends.

“You must be willing to do the things today others don’t in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have.” -Les Brown

There is power in turning these things down for a period in your life, so you can enjoy them at a different level later.

5. You Monitored Your Energy Well

Energy. Energy. Energy.

Successful people know how to monitor their energy and how to boost it!

“The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.”-Anthony Robbins

I am guilty of skipping a meal and being up late at night to meet certain deadlines.

If you were successful in 2016, you realized that you must nurture and take care of your body before you burn out.

Many successful people make it a habit to wake up early. Right around 6 am, successful people are already awake ready to take on the day.

In 2016, you realized that everyone has the same 24 hours in a day, but it’s what you make of those 24 hours that separates you from the rest.
